Oasis Bakery

Oasis Bakery is possibly the best Middle Eastern store in our fine city; every time I go here it just gets better and better.

What was a pretty simple store and bakery has been transformed over the past for years into a glamorous food store, bakery and cafe. They now package more of their quality ingredients under their own label, making shopping much easier and offering products not seen elsewhere. Their organic grains, nuts and dried fruits are particularly good.

The bakery part of the business still churns out mixed-meat kebabs, cheese and spinach triangles, and simple pizzas for lunch on the fly, plus packets of party-sized savouries.

The range of ground spices, nuts, pulses and snack foods is awesome, plus you will find spice blends such as zaatar and dukkah, as well as pickled beetroot, tahini, pomegranate syrup, feta, kataifi pastry, rose water, haloumi cheese, couscous and hundreds of other foods.

There are plenty of sweet options too, with stuffed dates, baklava, Turkish delight and fairy floss in all flavours. Visit just once and you’ll become a fan too.

Osais Bakery is at Shop 9, 993 North Road Murrumbeena 03 9570 1122

Been going to this place whenever I make it into Melbourne, the food there has always been amazing and relatively cheap. I live in Tasmania now so have had to rely on on-line ordering which has been great so far but miss having a lebanese coffee in the cafe
